How much pain would I be in if I ripped my scab off my arm?

I cannot handle it anymore! it has been on my elbow for two weeks and only starting to come off...I think I could just rip it off, but would it hurt...or worse yet, cause another scab if it bleeds?

  1. DON'T rip it off! It's more than likely that it's not ready to come off, and if you rip it, it'll scab up again. It just makes it heal more slowly if you do that.

And it would be a little uncomfortable, yes.

  2. I have done that before, it hurts a little.  You will bleed, but it won't cause another scab.

  3. Ripping off a scab only hurts for a few seconds.  The constant touching of the scab pushing on your sore hurts more.

Ripping off a scab can cause more bleeding and probably another scab.  Also, ripping off a scab can cause scarring.

  4. When I get scabs, I usually leave them alone until they stop hurting.

When they stop hurting, they start to itch, and I pull them off with ease. There's not much else to it. Only pull scabs when they are actually itching, if not, then don't touch them.

Ripping off a hurting scab = PAIN, PAIN, and a scar.

Ripping off an itching scab = The feeling of pulling tape off, and leaves a patch of healing pink skin.

It's really better to pull them off when they get loose, and not a moment before. The pink skin is healthy, healing skin, and leaving on the scab is only going to itch, so just pull it off. :D

  5. Its decided if its big or not. It might hurt and if its big you will bleed for a long time.

  6. Not much it really doesnt hurt

  7. first it will bleed, second it will leave a scar, and third,it will just scab up again. just dont do it. it will soon come off. just be very patient.

  8. lol NIL

  9. well it will hurt and bleed and probably be open for infection.its your arm peel it if it is bothering you our put a bandage on it

  10. Well, it depends.

If you pull it off, it'll either start to bleed again and form another scab, or it won't bleed, but leave a patch of pink, raw skin.

Just leave it, it'll fall off eventually.. put a band-aid on it if you have to, so you don't have to look at it/you can't pick at it.

  11. Only you can answer this question, it depends on your threshold for pain. I would just rip it off and chew it lol.

  12. ew don't tear it off! the itchiness is a sign that it's healing.

  13. Yep, it's gonna hurt, it's gonna bleed and it's gonna make a nice scar if you don't leave it alone. Put a little Neosporin on it it keep infection away. When it heals, apply sunblock daily so it does not cause discoloration.

  14. just get your mind off of it! if you think about it all the time if will feel worse! just ignore it and dont pick at it!

  15. Only you can answer that question because it depends on your level of tolerance to pain.

  16. It will scar if you rip it off! But if you do not mind that go for it and it may hurt a little..
