How much paint do I need for a base coat on a golf cart body?

would a quart be enough? using a small spray gun

I'm thinking of buying autoair paint

  1. I would by 2 quarts just in case its always good to have a little more than a little less good luck


  2. Buy 2 qts. Make sure to do a good coat with primer and sand it smooth. Never heard of Autoair paint. That said, generally off-brand cheaper paints do not cover as well as the name brands. So be aware of that. Size of the gun isn't really relevant. Spray pattern, quality of paint, good priming, even coverage, etc, are important. A small gun just means less output, more work for you, and much harder to get a good coat. I'm picturing the difference between a touch up gun, which I would consider a small gun, and a regular hvlp gun, which I would use.

    And make sure to clean you gun when you're done...
