  1. Indeed, I have never heard of a peaple before.  

    I do know though that dancers are usually PEOPLE.    Generally dancers in large productions make what is know as UNION WAGE.    Most Broadway type productions require those on stage in the US to belong to Actor's Equity and that includes dancers.  

    Equity wages are based on a number of factors including whether or not there's a speaking part and the total amount of time spent on-stage.    So the answer varies.  

    Dancers regardless the type of dance they perform are generally not that well paid unless they in high demand.

Riverdance and Lord of the Dance dancers are picked from the cream of the crop of the Irish Dance World Champions.  Even our local theme park show at Busch Gardends only hires World Champions.  Since there are very few professional shows needing Irish dancers, they can have their pick of the best.
