  1. I think that on most carnival ships, unless you've got some sort of spiffed up suite, most of the standard cabins can't house anymore than 4 people.

The bunks are pretty small.  One person on each can be very comfortable, but trying to get another person on one is not likely to work.

Now that I think of it, it's not like a hotel where you can try to cram extra people into the room anyways.  If you've got an extra 2 people wnting to come, you MUST book two cabins for the party.

  2. On Carnival's older ships (the Holiday, Celebration, Fantasy, Fascination, Elation, Ecstasy, Inspiration, Imagination, Paradise and Sensation) you can get up to five in a suite.  For all cabins on all other Carnival ships and all other cabins on the ships listed above you are limited to a maximum of four (including the two year old).

So, if someone is willing to pay for an extra cabin, you could get two connecting cabins (there is a door between the two cabins).  Then you would have six in two cabins or three each.

  3. I'm pretty sure you're maxed out.  There are rare cabins that will hold five, but considering you already have 4 plus a toddler, I don't see how you could fit more.

That said, you can check out the deck plan for your ship and your particular cabin, it'll say how many people will fit. (Go to Carnival's website, find your ship, and look at the deck plan.)

BTW, although Carnival's cabins are relatively large (they're designed with families in mind) it'll be tight with even four people.
