How much per check do they take for a 80 hour check at 28.00 per hour? I live in Texas.?

  1. It depends - how many allowances did you take?  The more you took, the less will be taken out of your check.  You have to figure state tax in as well.


  2. It is 12.75% with two dependants. I have done this before, and I live in Texas. It comes out to be about $286 out of the check leaving you with $1954.

    If the company has your dependant amounts right then it will always be 12.75% as a good estimation of how much the government takes. Not sure if your company takes anything out like 401 or ins, but that will come out before taxes. So take the amount after those and multiply by 12.75% and you get your figure.

    I figure this weekly on my husbands check and it is always exact with the same deductions as you said. Hope this helps.

  4. Just type in your search engine paycheck calculators and you will find a site that you can plug in the state you live in and it will tell you. I did this yesterday on one of husbands checks and it was very accurate.
