  1. Ask them if they have a policy in writing and what it says.

  2. I'm going to be blunt with you, Morrison's more than likely will keep you on a probationary rate for a year so it may take a year to get the raise.  While your there take any courses they offer then look for another job and bolt it when you get a better offer.  Big companies have absolutely no loyalty to you so you act the same accordingly.  Your young you don't want to waste 5 years of your life on c**p wages being treated like c**p.

  3. usually if it is a hiring raise it will happen after 90 days, but look over your hire and training packet it should have the details in there.

  4. You need to ask your employer.

maybe you should get somewthing in writing from them, confirming any "promises"

  5. There are three levels of minimum wage, and the rates from 1st October 2007 are:

£5.52 per hour for workers aged 22 years and older

A development rate of £4.60 per hour for workers aged 18-21 inclusive

£3.40 per hour for all workers under the age of 18, who are no longer of compulsory school age.

    2008

The national minimum wage will rise to £5.73 an hour in October, Prime Minister Gordon Brown has announced.

It will rise by 3.8% from £5.52. For 18 to 21-year-olds the rate will be £4.77, up from £4.60, while 16 to 17-year-olds will get £3.53, up from £3.40.
