  1. Little paranoid, Lemonpie?  This is commonly available information.  Google it if you doubt me.  Besides, a terrorist isn't going to worry about the size of the tank.  He just wants a big kaboom.

I manage fuels inventories in the States and my station's tanks run from about 8,000 ( 30K litres ) gallons nominal capacity to 20,000 ( 75K litres).  You'll rarely see over 20K, just because of the size of the tank, it becomes difficult to transport and situate on the property.  Some sites will have 2 or 3 tanks for regular, depending on the volume they move and how old the station is.  Older sites tend to be smaller and have smaller tanks.

Tanker trucks in the US typically run about 9,000 (34K) gallons, divided into 4 or more compartments.  The end compartments (over the axles) are typically 3,000 (11K) gallons each and there are 2 -1,500 ( 6K )gallon middle compartments.  When the trucks are hauling diesel, they only run about 80-85% of capacity, since diesel in a denser fuel and weighs out the truck before the compartments are full.  Some states allow as much as 12,000 gallons on one trailer, but there is legislation to reduce that, since the trailers are not as stable with the extra weight.

  2. depends on the market and what the laws will allow in that area of where the station is gonna be

  3. I think in the present climate this information is best kept by those that need to know.
