  1. The only accurate way I`ve found to tell how much fuel is left is to fill up when the fuel light comes on then subtract what you put in from the tank capacity (owners` hand book). When my light comes on I can only get 45 Lts into the 60 Lts tank!

  2. Thats a quarter of a tank left and will last you approx 15Miles. if you need any answers on your car again try reasearching suzuki's web page. Hope i helped. Goodluck.

  3. It is a really BAD practice to go that low on the fuel tank

    .Why ?

You  are sucking up all the c**p and water that is in the bottom of the fuel tank.

    Water ?

Yes moisture ( condensation )  forms on the metal walls of the tank, above the fuel level and then the water floats on the top of the gasoline ( water and gas don't mix ).

This water will eventually  clog your fuel filter, and then the car  won't start or will stop running, usually in the worst possible place ( on the motor way ) .

So, how to fix this problem ?   Don't run the gas tank below the quarter full mark, AND remove and replace the fuel filter NOW, to get  rid of the collected mositure in it.

I am assuming that you live in the UK  by your use of the   term  petrol ? If so , you need  to change the fuel filter at least once a year, due to the continual dampness of the climate there.

  4. usually around 25 miles, all depends how you drive it,

lololololol @ some of the other answers, very funny !

Sir Richard is the best, give him 10 stars, his answers are always great !

  5. Ahh! A petrol gambler!! lol! Look in your handbook, it will tell you. And to my previous poster - lol @ the pre-warning jokes stuff, but I think the asker is apologising for it being petrol, not it being a Vitara. Petrol + 4x4 = horrendous fuel economy

  6. enough to get to the closest petrol station asap?? thats why its a pre-warning..it should have just enough for the average distance between servos i guess.

    **************ADDED*************

im in australia where we say PETROL cos thats what it is and we say SERVO for service station!!

and a pre-warning is not the warning you get when your car stops but the warning you dont have long , get you butt to the closest "petrol station".. why are some people on her so negative to others ?  :(  im sorry, ditzy little blonde me couldnt think of a better word than p"pre-warning" but the alarm alarm thing you came up with..thats surely ingenious..great grammatical skills there.

  7. You can safely drive it fifteen or twenty miles, I'd say. Should be in your handbook. Why? Are you stranded in the middle of an arid desert with no petrol stations nearby? And the Vitara is quite cute by the way, no need to apologise.

(What's a "pre-warning" by the way, my fellow answerer? The warning that a warning is about to arrive? Is there a Pre-pre-warning system I don't know about? The warning of the warning of the warning? Does the same thing happen with alarms? Is there an alarm alarm? I'm confused. What's a servo?)

Edit: I know you're upset that it runs on petrol, just trying to lighten the mood you know. Hmm. Think I may have gone a little far with the pre-warning stuff. Still, at least I didn't mention "reversing back". That annoys the cr*p out of me too. Of course a car reverses back - which other way would it reverse? Forward?

  8. The way to find out would be to find out how big the tank is, then go to the gas station and fill the tank when the light comes on.  The difference in the number of gallons you put in the tank and the total capacity of the tank will tell you how much gas is left when the light comes on. Take the number of gallons difference and multiply it by the average mpg, and that will tell you how far you can go before you are completely empty.  The low level light in my wife's '02 Grand Am comes on with 2 gallons left (14.3 gallon tank).
