  1. The output of your system depends not on the size of your terrace but on the size and number of pannels installed and on your geographical location: Arizona or Alaska, and on the TYPE of PV pannel.

Look at one of the PV pannel websites to calculate your output but the coffeemaker answerer is definitely wrong.

  2. At noon on a sunny day most solar panels will produce between 500 and 1000 milliwatts per square foot, less during the rest of the day.  Covering an 1800 square foot terrace will produce enough power to run a coffeemaker.

  3. infinity

  4. Your area is 1800sf /11= 163.6 square meters.  You won't have 100% coverage so we'll round down to 150sm.

    150smX1365watt/sm= 204750 watts available

    Adjust for efficiency

    204.75kw X .18= 36.855kw maximum output.

You can expect a system of that size to produce 4500 kwh per month, and cost a minimum of $150,000.  4500kwh will give you $450 per month or $5400.00 per year, paying for itself in about 28 years.

Myself, I'm waiting a couple years for  the new products from companies like Nanosolar, First Solar, Global Solar, or dozens of other thin film manufactures come to market.  These products will pay for themselves over seven or eight years.

  5. A good solar Panel can generate 100 to 150 Watts per sq.m  in a tropical areas  (present mono-crystalline cells has 15 % efficienncy) and the power out can reduce depending on sunshine etc.

  6. Be sure and Eng. them to stand a wind of 100 mph. If u don't they will be blown all the country.

  7. it's going to generate enough power for you not to pay any electricity bills for the electricity you use at night
