How much power does my Amp need?

Question

I want to get a system 4 the trunk of my car. I saw a Combo on Crutchfield.com for $179 (Pioneer/Blaupunkt Bass Package

Blaupunkt PCA 1350 mono amplifier

Two Pioneer TS-W252R 10" subwoofers

Item #700PIOBL10) but from what I have been reading, it doesn't seem to go together. Can someone tell me it that is an ok combo or not. If not, I want 2 of the pioneer subs, found 'em somewhere else for 30 bucks. (Pioneer TS-W252R 10" 4-ohm subwoofer ...power range: 50-120 watts RMS (600 watts peak power)) Cause they look cool, and it seems like they will make just enough noise, but not too much. If I get those two subs, how much power does an amp need, and does anyone have Amp suggestions. I have up to $200 for just the amp. If u need more info let me know. Thanks in advance!!!

i would get the pioneer 750 watt amp single stage those go for about 150 to 179 depending on where you go

You will need an amp that can produce at least 300 watts RMS into 2 ohms.  If you use a pair of the pioneer subs and wire them in parallel you will present a 2 ohm load to the amp. Look for a JBL BP300.1 monoblock amplifier, these amps are really powerful yet they won't tax your cars electrical system too much.

i just read the first sentence and already know the answer

that's not a good deal

blaunpkt doesn't make the greatest amps

plus it'll be cheaper if you bargain somewhere else

The combo is okay for starters.  The subs are borderline ... the amp is borderline.  I'm sure you get the picture.

If you're willing to drop a little more into your system, if you like the Pioneers ... I'd highly recommend spending a touch more and getting the TS-W257D2's which you can find online for $45 each.  Better power handling and people don't experience them blowing as easily.  Find a decent 500W monoblock amp ... you'd be good to go.
