i have an ipod touch and it is really annoying to turn the ipod all the way off and then back on....i was wondering how much power it uses if you just put it in the hold position and you dont have any music playing cuz that is obviously much easier

thanks!

  1. None

it actually takes more to shut it down and then reopen it

so putting it to sleep by using hold is better

  2. People who say it takes more power to turn it on then to leave it in hold/sleep mode are full of c**p. However, the iPod doesn't use much power when it is in sleep/hold- it was meant to be used that way. You should not lose too much battery charge by leaving it in hold/sleep mode.

  3. It will use less then fully powering it down, because powering it on takes a lot of power i guess.

  4. the first answerer is wrong. the ipod touch does use some battery power when on hold, but not that much. you can put it on hold for about a week before it runs out. but shutting it down and turning it back on does use a significant amount of battery though, so at night, just put it on hold.
