WIth a container with a diameter of 1 ft. and a height of 3ft covered with one thin layer of fiberglass, how much psi pressure can it withstand before it bursts?

  1. depends on the strength of the resin used on the fiberglass.

    once you know the strength you can use simple pressure vessel equations.  For example ASME section 8 gives you the code allowed equations and stress levels.

    If the ends are flat then that will be your weak point.
