The label inside the door wore off and the manual is no help either. So how much tire pressure does a 2001 Buick Regal LS need. Please be as accurate as possible.

  1. Rule of thumb is 35 psi...

  2. The right pressure for the tires are usually between 28 and 32 psi.

  3. Depends on the tire size.....

The maximum psi is on the sidewall in very small letters. Your tire should be either 36 psi or 44 psi (no way 60!!!!) If it is 36 we usually set the air at 32 to 33 for normal driving, if it is 44 we set it at 40 to 42. Your car manufacturer always recommends the low side of the air pressure to get a little better ride but.... you give up tire life and some gas mileage, could be as much as 10 to 20 percent, by driving underinflated tires. Overinflated will wear your tires out a lot faster too and your cars won't handle as well, especially in the rain. If you are loading your car down to the max, with passengers and gear for any length of time or distance then air them up to the max psi.

  4. Don't go by the sidewall of the tire that one guy doesn't know anything about cars if he said that you will blow out you tire or make a bubble in it if you hit a big pothole. The sidewall is the max pressure for when your mounting the tire when they are changed. I see people in all the time to get a new tire because they run there tire pressures at 62 psi and they end up blowing out there tires. Those little tiny doughnut tire spares in your trunk take 60 psi but not your regular tires. If you look inside your door it should tell you on the sticker either on the one with the VIN # or a separate sticker for the tires. Buicks are usually between 28-32 psi. I do this stuff everyday so I kinda know tires lol.

  5. it should say on the sidewall of the tire and try more like 60PSI

  6. You can use this Firestone website, just enter the car info at the top of the page. The pressure given is for the specific vehicle and tire size only. FYI, note the Firestone disclaimer. Vehicle manufacturers, not tire manufacturers, determine recommended cold inflation pressures for each specific vehicle/tire combination. Try a Buick dealer's Service Department if you don't trust the Firestone info., they should be able to tell you on the phone.

  7. The recommended air pressure is molded into the side wall of the tire usually in small print near the edge of the rim. The pressures for passenger tires are usually somewhere between 28 and 32 psi, but could vary by tire size and/or manufacturer.
