i want to book a tatkal ticket thru irctc from ahmedabad to delhi.. but i am not sure i wil be able to get it once the tatkal opens 5 days earlier, as a lot of rush is going on these days.. n even travel agents have gone online apart from the railway counters that open at the same time..so is it better to contact a travel agent or do it myself??

I have a pc at home with good internet connection.. and i have earlier booked rail tickets ( not the tatkal) . My travel dates are not flexible.. that means if i miss , there will be a lot of problem.. Please suggest.. TIA

  1. Well dont know abt the probability of getting the ticket.

But to save you the pain of searching try the rediff railways site.

    Gluck with the tickets

    Cheers,

  2. If your dates are not flexible, do not take any risk. Better get it from an agent. Paying a serive fee will ensure for a hassle free travel. Good luck.

  3. the probability is the same as you book ticket in a counter.

the tickets can be got from 5 days prior.

but the only problem is you will not get refund if u book ticket and by some chance cancell that.

also, you will have to pay the entire amount for the train ticket ie. from to to, even if you do not travel that long.

    hope that helps!!!

  4. Hello,

The probablity is the same if you book the tickets via irctc. The tatkal online booking starts 8:00 in the morning 5 days prior. Normally you should get it if you log on by 8:00.

I booked a ticket via tatkal two days back when all busses and agents said there is no availability or possibility, but via tatkal i was able to get it.
