How much would a veterinary surgeon get paid a year? My mom says it won't be enough to pay my bills when i get older but i have made me decision and i wan't to be a vet. plus on a website last year a regular vet was paid 50,000 dollars a year.

I would say do what you want, if you are not happy, you will have a life long career you hate, and you will not have quality of life.  You should make enough to support yourself, but whatever you choose, do it well, and you will be able to support yourself.

A vet normal gets paid between $53,000-$81,000 depending on where you work the average though is $66,000/year.  A surgeon will make more then that.  If you want to be a vet, you will make more then enough money to support yourself.
