  1. i spend about $100 a week on groceries. i do a lot of cooking but this is also for snacks that i take to places i know won't have veg. food.

  2. Wow, I don't spend close to that.

I try and spend $25/week at the grocery store.  Some weeks I have to spend more when I run out of stuff, like flour/pasta/beans etc.  So I would say $125/month ($25/week 3 weeks, $50/week 1 week)

That is not including toiletries, which I usually buy at Target or Walgreens.

Also, I pretty much only buy produce that is on sale, and make my own salads.

    Some basics for me are:

    *Variety of Canned Beans

*Vegetarian Refried beans, chili, baked beans

    *Jars Pasta Sauce (Prego)

    *Brown Rice/Whole Wheat Pasta

    *Whole Wheat Bread

    *Natural Peanut Butter

    *Whole Wheat Tortillas

    *Mixed Frozen Vegetables

    *Frozen Waffles

    *Silk Soy Milk Vanilla

    *Cereal - Special K/Granola

(All Stuff I don't have to buy every week, or even every other week)

Make sure you have tuppeware to have leftovers!!

  3. I go shopping every other week and I spend about 250.00.  That is to feed a family of 4...2 adults and 2 children.  It depends on too many factors.  It's too broad of a question.

  4. That depends on if you cook/bake or fast food it.

I spend about $400 a week for 4 people.  So do the math.

  5. I try to budget myself at $40 a week, sometimes I go over ($40-$65). If I'm by myself I usually wait until I run out of food, so it'll be like a week and a half between trips, sometimes I go to different stores depending on what I'm wanting to buy.

Usually I get soymilk, juice, cereal, maybe waffles or something else for breakfast, canned or frozen veggies, canned beans, things to make for dinner- I usually try to go under $2 for a microwave soup or ramen-type noodles you cook in the microwave. Then I get things to cook like vegetarian chili, pasta and rice or something. Snacks: chips, soy ice cream, sometimes apple sauce, nuts, fruit, veggies, hummus mix, popcorn, soy yogurt or pudding. I usually get some kind of cola/soda. It depends on what you buy and if you eat a lot or not. Fresh fruit and veg. is kind of expensive at the grocery store so you have to go to the market if you want those and are trying to watch how much you spend. Sometimes I get organic brand and sometimes I get generic brand (the store's brand of canned veg/beans).

Also, if you eat at restaurants, that is going to cost more. Try getting tap water there if you're budgeting, and just one course/appetiser. Eating at home is cheaper.

  6. That depends on your budget and the types of food that you eat.  I buy everything organic and vegan and I spend about 50-75 dollars a week on just myself.
