How much ram can i add?

if my desktop has 128mb of ram how much more would i be able to add? or does it all depend on the computer itself?

  1. Hi

    You can add another 128mb, 512mb etc.... Just make sure the ram is compatible and in pairs. If the computer doesn't boot after installing new ram, then remove all the ram. Now just install the new ram without the old. If it works, then the new ram is not compatible with the old one. If it doesn't boot the new ram is not compatible with your motherboard.

  4. It depends on the motherboard that is in the machine.  Depending on the type of memory and the number of slots it has for memory, you can determine the maximum.  If you find the model of the motherboard research it online to find specs to tell you.

    You can use crucial memory advisor tool to find out, how much memory you can add and what type of memory you need.
