  1. Take the side of your pc off, andlook for the make && model number of the motherboard. Put this into google to find their manufactures website, and enter the model number into their search engine and it will tell you how bigger RAM it will take. P.S - Make sure when you take the side of your pc off, there's no power going through it, and do NOT touch the motherboard with your hand.

  2. Doesn't work this way. You need to know, not only how much is the Maximum amount your motherboard will support, but also how much is the Maximum amount each ram slot will support. You need to know what style of ram memory, and also what frequency speed it operates at too.

I suggest you go to Crucial.com, and use their Crucial System Scanner Tool. (On the homepage click on the 'Scan My System' button)

It's free, you're not obligated to buy from them, there's no spy/virus/etc., attached, and it doesn't scan your personal stuff. Here you will find your answer.

  3. The quantity of Ram you can use depends on your motherboard only. You need to find out what kind of motherboard you are using, or, if you own a brand name PC, the model number.

Alternatively you can find out info about your motherboard by going to

    http://www.crucial.com/

There you can get your motherboard scanned and they can tell you what type and quantity of Ram you can actually use and make recommendations. If you're lucky they might be able to give you a model number for your motherboard and with that you can search online for your motherboard's specs.
