How much ram do I have? ?

Why is it that when I bought my computer it says it has 2GB of ram on it? But when I check my control panel and system icon it says I only have 1.87GBs of ram? Should I add another GB? I'm running Windows Vista.

Part of the ram is used for the video card. Do not worry about it.

check your video card. Some video cards suck up 10 - 20% memory of the 2gb ram memory

Also the extra GB of ram will increase overall performance about 20%.

If you can buy it at a bargain it would be worth the investment.

SImply you have a hardware that uses that much ram so you cant turn it

to 2 gb ram and also check your mother board how many gbs of ram can

it handle maybe that is the problem.
