    Vellore Institute of Technology , The VIT University invites applications for VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) – 2008 for Admission to B.Tech. Programmes in -

    1.Bioinformatics

    2. Bio-Medical Engineering

    3. Biotechnology

    4. Chemical Engineering

    5. Civil Engineering

    6. Computer Science & Engineering

    7. Electronics & Communication Engineering

    8. Electrical & Electronics Engineering

    9. Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

    10. Information Technology

    11. Mechanical Engineering

    12. Mechanical & Energy Enginering

    Eligibility:

    * A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB)

    * A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology(PCM / PCB) for Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Students hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and from the North Eastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.

    Candidates belonging to SC/ST category must fill in the proforma as given in Appendix-VI and have it attested by competent authority (The list of authorities empowered for the same is given in Appendix-VI).

    Candidates hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh should fill in CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY proforma given in Appendix-VI.

    These documents should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.

    * Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes

    * Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Biotechnology & Biomedical Engineering programmes

    Candidates appearing for the 10+2 examination in March/April 2008 are also eligible.

    Age:

    Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1986 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2008

    can be obtained by sending a crossed DD for Rs.750/- drawn in favour of “VIT Univeristy payable at Vellore, to the Admissions Officer with a request letter containing the full addres of the applicant

    Direct Purchase:

    By handing over a DD for Rs.750/- in person at VIT University, Vellore (or) at Chennai Administrative Office.
