How much rock salt does it take to kill a palm tree?

Dig down and expose the roots, lift up the palm and place a lump of rock salt the same size as the root ball directly under it and replace palm.  Wait 1 year and it should be dead.  Never plant anything else in that soil every as it will be saline and inhospitable.
