  1. If the space is too small, get rid of your bed you can sleep when your old!!!!!

  2. that should probably do.. my band practices in a 10ft x 10ft little room, which is also filled with a treadmill, some bowflex thing, and another little treadmill sort of thing. the drums are comfortable placed in a corner and there is still room for a guitarist and a bassist to stand pretty comfortably alongside the amplifiers. then, a bunch of other people have fit before too, so i'm pretty sure 6 feet will do :)

  3. they should.  drums dont take up that much space.

  4. OH, HAPPY DAY!

6 feet in diameter should do it.

I have set up in smaller spaces, but you will have plenty of room.

Incidentally, HOW you set up your kit is just as important as how you play it. over time, your body will have made unpleasant accomdations for your kit (speaking from 15 years experience) if it isn't set up right from the get go.

Start at your seat and put your feet down in a natural manner. Now....look down at them. Notice how they tend to angle out? it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that your pedals should correspond to the angles of your feel. Unfortunately, mainstream music wants the bass drum FORWARD in live situations to add a better visual appeal. In this case, just turn your bod (and the kit) a little to the left, and the bass drum will be in proper rockstar position!

The added benefit of this slight shift in the setup allows the drums to be set up to work WITH your body, instead of your body working with the drums. Snare drum should be just at waist height, allowing a 90 degree bend in the arm. You arm should flow straight back from the tom to the floor tom. Cymbals should be able to be reached with a minimum of movement from the wrist....not the arm.

Congrats on your new kit....I started on a pearl export pro years ago, then upgraded when the time was right. pearl makes outstanding drums. i have had one of their top of the line kits for almost 10 years, and the only thing I have had to replace on it are a couple of screws and washers. This kit has been around the country and overseas. it has been in most of the elements, and it is made with pride.

PLEASE KEEP DRUMMING, AND CONGRATS AGAIN!!!
