i chucked the instructions away, not thinking. how much salt do i need to dye my black skinnies back to black? i have black dye (obviously)

  1. Check the Dylon websites for instructions at the first two links below. You will need one pound (half a kilo) of salt per dye package for a front-loader washing machine load with Dylon Machine dye, or a half a pound (250 grams, or 5 tablespoons) of salt for dyeing with Dylon Hand Dye. To use Dylon Permanent dye, which is the version sold in the US, add 4 tablespoons (60 ml) of salt per packet of dye.

    Note that a single packet of Dylon Permanent dye or Dylon Hand Dye will dye only up to half a pound of fabric (250 grams). You will need four packages to dye a two-pound pair of jeans, or up to twice that for a really deep rich black color. One packet of Dylon Machine Dye will dye up to one pound (600 grams) of fabric to the shade indicated on the package, so you might need two of those, depending on the weight of your jeans.
