How much shock do i put in my pool?

according to the intex website, it holds about 1,018 gal. of water. so how much shock do i put in it?? i have a measuring cup and some shock so lets make magic..

  1. well in my pool i usually put half or a little less of the shock in the pool so if i was u i would put a little less in the pool and see how that works and then if it looks like u need more then just put more in it


  2. It really depends on the type of granular chlorine the "shock" is and the percentage of that active ingredient. Most granular chlorine is calcium hypochlorite- 65%. If this is what you have then you would only need to add about 2oz. If it is the 45% you would add 3oz. This is to bring 1018 gallons up to 10ppm (general shock level) from 0.
