  1. I would disagree paying off in full each month unless it's AMEX.   Paying off monthly will affect your credit score, meaning FICO folks want to see that you have a balance and are paying on them monthly (not in full). At the same time they do not want to see you maxed out, but maintain a card usage of about 30 - 40%.   Just read article from the experts about paying credit card bills.

  2. You SHOULD pay the full balance.  That's what I do.

  3. More than what the minimum payment is.

  4. The entire balance.  The interest charges will kill you.

  5. Do what I do. I don't use credit unless there is an emergency. I have one debit card, and one credit card. I use my debit card only, but if an unexpected charge comes along like say, my tire on my car blew, then I would use my credit card since it wasn't in my budget in the first place.

Credit can be a good thing, as long as you pay it ALL back. If you owe $2000 for a new TV, and you don't have the money, you will have to make about $50 minimum payment per month. The interest will rack up, and when you finish paying it all off, you will have paid almost $3000! Use credit wisely.
