How much should I ask for 1997 Ford Taurus?

The problem with the car is its engine gone bad. Mechanic say it needs to be replaced. The car is not starting. It all started after Indiana's rain flooded the roadways :( The car is in perfect condition from inside and out. The car just wont start.

An 11 year old Taurus with a bad motor is not worth a whole lot more than  scrap value!. Running and driving it may be worth $2000, most likely less. If the engine needs to be replaced, the cost of doing so may exceed the value of the repaired vehicle.  You most likely can get a few hundred dollars from the scrapyard!

Was the car flooded? If it was,  do not even consider fixing the car, scrap it! Cars do not swim well, and if they are flooded, they will never be right again!
