How much should I ask for a 1997 Dodge stratus that needs a new oil pump?

My car broke down and the mechanic said that the oil pump is gone and if fixed the bearings will go soon afterward. How much should I ask for the car as is? The mechanic was interested in purchasing it for his wife.

Go to KBB.com and check out the value for your car...My guess is a bluebook value if it runs aroune 3K - drop it based on the work that needs to be done..
