  1. I live in an economically depressed area of North Carolina and pay $15 an hour.  My person is booked solid all the time.

  2. I cleaned houses for a living a few years ago.  I was charging anywhere between $75-$100 per week.

  3. I think $150 is high, unless you live in NYC. If you live in a big city, I'd say that is about right.  However, if you live a town or more rural area, I would say $100 or less is more appropriate.

  4. My house is half the size of yours and I paid 100 dollars every two weeks.  The price is affected by how often they will be cleaning. With cleaning services, get it in writing as far as what they will and won't do.  That way there are no misunderstandings later on.  I was mainly interested in cleaning of the bathrooms and living areas, dusting, blinds and tile floor.  (my entire house is tile)

BTW, I don't live in NYC.  I am in Nevada.

  5. expect to pay about $150 for a fairly decent job.

  6. someone tried to charge you $175...for basically 3000 sq. ft? WOW!!!!!  get there number and references...hurry quick!!! that is a darn good price!!! the going rate is around $30 an hour from ceilings to floors a house your size would take 7-9 hours depending on knick knacks, how dirty your house is and so on...

  7. A friend of mine charges $20.00 an hour. She stays busy...
