How much should I budget (USD) for 2-3 weeks vacation in Europe (multi-country)?

$100-125 per day if you want to stay in 2-3 star hotels (clean, basic rooms with no frills), take public transportation to get around, eat some but not all meals in restaurants, and pay admission to major sights but not try to see absolutely everything.

More like $150-200 per day if you only want hotels that are perfectly located and that don't have tiny rooms, if you plan on taking some taxis, if you eat all of your meals in restaurants, and if you have to see everything in a city before moving on.

$75 per day if you stay in youth hostels, take public transportation, and eat mostly cheap food with few meals in real restaurants.
