Has anyone been on a Disney Cruise? How much did it cost? Was it worth it?

I have 3 children and 1 is under 2, and the other two are under 10. It would be me and my husband and would only want to go for 3-5 days.

Thanks!

  1. mortgage the house. the cruise is expensive. (at least it is if you are going from NY)

  2. 30dollars a day.....just set it all aside and before you know it you will have a big wad of cash!  have a good trip!

  3. We did a Disney Cruise when are kids were 4 and 6. I thought 4 years old is the minimum age to keep up with the pace of the cruise. There is so much to do and because it is so expensive you don't want to miss and thing. Also, under 3 can't participate in their kids club.

We did the 7 night cruise I think it ended up being $100 per person per day. That doesn't count excursions, souvenirs, liquor. We gave each child some money of their own to spend that had to last the whole cruise so they weren't constantly bugging us to buy them the toys etc. They sell souvenirs on the cruise. and their kiosk is right near the kids pool so be aware/prepared for that.

I did think it was worth it. The shows were out of this world but you would want your child old enough to be able to sit and watch the show for 45 mins so you can enjoy it. They are really great.

Having done the 7 night cruise, I would not go for any less. You just get situated get the feel of the ship and boom 7 days are up! Also on the 7 night itineraries they do fabulous shows and great activities that aren't listed on the shorter cruises. The ports were all really fun too.

You can read my cruise review at webtravelreviews.com

  4. Disney is expensive.  Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian are also family friendly and cost about 30% less.

Disney offers three, four and seven night cruises.  The cost varies by when you go and what kind of cabin you want.  Any cruise travel site, including Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity can provide you with the cost after you select the date you want to go and what kind of a cabin you want.

  5. Depending on what you are planing for shore excursions, I would plan on spending $100 per day extra.  The souvenirs are expensive.  Disney is a very expensive cruise line, but well worth the money.  I have been on the Disney Wonder and it was one of the best cruises I have ever been on.  You will really enjoy it.

  6. Definitely go on the Disney cruise!!! We went last year with our 3 children and had the best vacation ever! As far as cost, for the 5 of us in a category 4 cabin (it had a balcony) The total was less than $3000 for the 3 night cruise. It was well worth it too because everything was included! The kids actually cried when we would try to get them out of the kids clubs! The only items we paid extra for were souvenirs, shore excursions, and tips for the staff. We got our cruise through Expedia.com because if you book through Disney, they will charge you ALOT more for the same exact cruise! Anyways, Disneycruise.com has great info and you can get a free DVD that shows how fun the cruise really is! But when its time to purchase your tickets, get them on Expedia.com  Have fun!
