I am 14 years old and I'm looking for a way to make money..my grandma lives in a gated senior apartment place [1 story, have laundry rooms],and I'm going to put up signs by the mailboxes for cleaning.

I will vacuum, change sheets, clean the dishes, take out trash,do laundry..what other stuff do seniors need done? if you think of anything else, please tell me.and please tell me how much I should charge for each thing or how much hourly because I need to make the signs.

thanks,taylor

  1. 8 an hour 5 for a single chore

  2. I think this is a wonderful idea for you to make money. I don't know if I would charge an hourly rate or just a flat rate. Remeber that most of the Seniors are on fixed incomes so if you charge to much you won't get much buisness, so you might have to charge less than you wish so you can get more business. Depending on where you live I think $15.00 to $25.00. Good Luck

  3. Taylor  - you may include  cleaning the bathroom, i.e. washing the toilet sinks and bath/shower.

Also extra $$  for running errands.

The rate for adults doing that stuff is about $65. a day- but since you are just starting  I would say $10. an hour is a good price to charge.

Working with seniors can be very rewarding experience, they have so much to teach us about life.

I congratulate you for doing this, instead of just sitting around and  being bored half the time.  However do not let yourself get too tired and take time to have fun and enjoy the summer as well.

  4. You can charge about $8-$10 an hours. Also try adding dusting, and window washing. Good luck on your new money making venture!
