  1. i live in louisiana and it runs about $100.00 to $130..,so check prices around you at centers and go a little lower since it's going to be homecare.

  2. about a 100$ per week

  3. Schools usually charge around 120-150 per week so that can be your range. Except for the Passaic County area the have a free program for 3-4 year olds.

  4. The price in Atlanta for 3-4 year olds vary....some start at $150..and up

  5. I like that someone else said to find out what daycare centers around you are charging then undercut them.  That's exactly what I would do.  I live in the DFW in Texas.  Daycares here charge around the $100 per week range for 3-4 year olds.  Of course, the better the quality, the higher the cost - premium prices are more around the $200 per week.  Some even charge by the month, like my son's preschool - I'm paying $390 a month, but I only pay for "school year" days, not year-round.  Next year, he's going to a specialized preschool until 2:00 then an afterschool program until I pick him up.  It will cost me about $470 a month.

One other thing - have you looked into licensing standards for New Jersey?  In Texas, a daycare worker cannot be directly responsible for children more than 10 hours a day.  The standards in your state may be different, forcing you to hire someone to help you, which could change what you need to charge to cover paying an employee.  And how about teacher - child ratios?  This could help you with the decision on how much to charge.  For example, in Texas, there are several "levels" of home daycare, and the level determines the ratio.  A "registered home" will allow you to keep no more than 4 children at a time, no matter what age.  If this was the case in your state, charging only $100 per week is not very much money, especially if you are supplying meals, arts supplies, etc.  But a "licensed home" can have a maximum of 12 children aged 3-4 - BIG difference.  Hmmm $400 a week or $1200 a week.  Check your state's licensing standards to be sure.
