How much should I charge per hour for babysitting a 6 year old?

I babysit her from 8 AM to 6 PM. And i have to make breakfast and lunch.

  1. If I were you I would call a Daycare in your area, and ask how much they would charge for a 6 yr. old. If you watch her 5 days a week, then tell them, but when you do that, then charge them about the same, maybe alittle less, so you can keep this job.


  2. How old are you?

    If you are 14-17 I say 6 or 7 per hour. 18 and up? At least 10.00....

    By the time people are 18 they may live on their own and have to possibly provide for themselves...they also have more experience than someone younger and may already be in college.


  3. I would get paid $5-6 an hour. So, between $50 and $60 . I would say go for $55, because you make meals. But also keep in mind that the parents are working all day and then half of their salary goes to you. If you babysit 5 days a week, perhaps offer a discount. Just a thought.
