  1. Maybe $10 a DVD. That's the going rate in this area.And you're not a pro.

  2. I use AVS Video Tools which cost me a little. It can convert to/from all key format, upload video or DVD directly to key portables like iPod, Sony PSP, Archos, Zen Creative, and mobiles.

It can capture video from DV or webcams, TV tuners, DVB-T, DVB-S, transfer VHS tapes to DVD, remove commercials, edit video, copy and burn DVDs and video files: AVI (DivX, XviD, etc.), MP4, WMV, 3GP, 3G2, QuickTime (MOV, QT), SWF, DVD, VOB, VRO, MPEG 1,2,4, MPG, DAT, VCD, SVCD, ASF, H.263, H.264, RM, DVR-MS.

There is the free download link:

  3. I would charge alot if it becomes popular demand.

Labour and Hardware fee, I would recommand.

You can also use one of these fees as a percentage.

If you don't want a labour fee than try a 10% service fee on the hardware fee.

EDIT: I would say $13 or above, also depending on what your doing, if they have power buying rights you may want to give them a discount.

You may also want to charge more for a DVD than CD and even more if its a BluRay.

  4. It would depend on the quality of the service you're offering. This isn't exactly a niche thing any more, and people aren't going to pay big bucks if they can achieve the same thing with a domestic VCR hooked up to a standard DVD recorder.

Are you using top-of-the-line VCRs that are properly maintained and calibrated? Are you using professional quality software to produce the DVDs? Do you know how to get the best possible quality out of a worn or damaged tape?
