How much should I earn to live in central park NY decently?

Central park NY is a beautiful place to live in, just like the paradise. I know it must be a long way for me to go, but people all live in the world with a dream and work hard for the motivation. So how much my yearly income should be then I can afford living there.

I think the average yearly income of people in that area might be a nice answer.

$50,000 but I know people that make less and still live pretty good. It all depends on how many other bills you have.
