How much should I expect for a trade in for my 1999 Toyota Camray?

I have a 1999 Toyota Camray and am the orignal owner. The car is a 4 cylinder LE with 99,800 miles on it. The car is in good condition except for the back bumped. The back right bumper is dented.

I went into a Nissan dealer and they only wanted to offer me $675 which I feel is a rip off. I'm considering selling the car on my own. The Nissan dealer only wants to give me $1,000 off of the sticker price of a new Nissan Altiama.

  1. Check kbb.com and click used car. Fill in all the info and you can compare trade in values and private party values.

  2. You know that you don't have to trade it in.....sell it on your own if you think it's worth more money. I wish half of my customers would not trade their cars in. In most cases we "over allow" for the trade anyway....showing them more money for their trade than what it's worth.

  3. You really don't give enough information to accurately determine the trade-in value,  such as auto/manual and the power equipment (windows, A/C, etc.).  The value would also vary based on your location.  That said, I think $675 is VERY under-priced.  It should be around $2000.  You can determine this more accurately yourself by searching for Kelly Blue Book on the internet.
