Question:

How much should I feed my four cats?

I currently use two bowls (regular cereal bowls?) and I fill both of them.

After I fill both bowls I put them down and my four cats share. Two cats go to one bowl, the other two go to the other bowl.

I have one cat that's a year old, another that's 2 years old, another that's like 4, and one that's like 5 months old.

The 4 year old is a siamese cat, and she is very overweight.

I need to know how much to feed each cat.

If you people tell me the amounts they each need, I will begin feeding them separately, assuring that they eat just the right amounts.

I feed them Friskie's dry food mixed with Friskie's wet food.

And they are fed twice a day.

Please tell me the amounts they need to eat.

  1. get double-dip containers like with room for food and water but get 2 of those and fill each both  of the double-things and each cat will have a half of one or get each one a full double-dip both food and a mug with water cuz my cat has a double-dip container filled on both sides with food and a wide big mug with water i refill the water everyday and she eats about 1 and a half to 2 servings of the double-dip food-filled container everyday hope i helped! good luck!

  2. Howdy,

feeding your cats separately really is best, especially if one's getting a bit tub as it means she's stealing somebody else's food too!  Hehehe :)  How much they need will depend on how much they weigh (as a healthy weight).  So regardless of what your Siamese weighs, the ideal weight for a female is 3.6 - 5kg or 8-12lbs, whichever you prefer.  So look on the side of your food and it should have feeding guidelines.

Online, Friskies say (http://www.petco.com/product/14841/Purin... 1/4 to 1/3 of dry food mixed with 6-8 oz of wet feed.  it's easy to work out oz by seeing how much is in a can or puch and saying it's about 1/2 a can or whatever.  Do the same for all your cats.

Would you consider getting a light food for your siamese?  it'll help her get to a more healthy weight.  Also, she will whine for food but ignore it!  It's for her own good :)  Also, cats up to 12 months old do a lot better on specifically made-for-kittens food as they have different nutritional needs to adult cats.  Adult cat food won't have the high amounts of protein (muscle growth) and calcium (bone growth) kittens need.  But once again, feeding speparately will solve this.  GOod luck.

  3. If you have a lot of cats, you probably wont need to feed them regularly. If they are generous eaters and wont eat like crazy just leave out a bowl of food and let them eat when they want. When the bowl runs out of food, just fill it up again. And try leaving the bowl somewhere where no one other than you and the cats can get to it. Beacase if you have a dog he/she could want to eat it.
