How much money should I have to buy a gerbil. Im not sure if Im gonna buy one but maybe.

Try looking for a free one that comes with a cage and accesories on Craiglist.  Then it should only cost about $200 per year.  Shop for bedding/feed at a feed store, not a pet store and it should cost you even less.

go to Petsmart or wherever they sell gerbils.  aside from the gerbil itself you'll need to buy a cage, its special food, the accessories for the cage, wood shavings, etc, etc.
