So here I am finally with a job, now that i have an income, I also need to figure out how much i have to save! I would love to save all of it, but I need to have some fun, since I haven't worked in a couple of years! Now the thing is, if my Money is going to make some real money, then I can try to save every extra penny from now on! So what i really want to know, is FOR Someone who doesn't have any experience in the stock market, but wants to start investing by september (i'm in the learning process right now!) HOW much would i need as a safe minimum? By safe i mean, enough money to make, as well as enough money to lose and not get traumatized! Would 1,000 be enough? How much would i need?

  1. Why are you investing? Is it for retirement, your kids college needs? To put a down payment on a house? There are so many questions you need to ask yourself before you start. Those answers will lead to more questions. When will you need the money back or how long are you willing to tie up your investments, etc. You should be continually investing, not just dumping in a grand and hoping you become rich off of it. There are multiple ways to invest as well, does your company offer a 401k? If not, you need to learn about the alternatives. Start at the site below, I'm sure it will help. Good luck.
