How much should I loosen the trucks on my skateboard?

I want to be able to turn easily and well but also be on the safe side

Between where the trucks arent to tight and wobbly. try cruising down a hill so see how tight or loose or comfortable you want your trucks

It's all up to you.  Loosen them up a half turn and see if you like it.  If it's still is too tight, keep loosening them until you like the ride.  If you loosen the trucks all the way and it still is too tight, you need to get softer bushings.
