How much should I pay for a new 2008 Dodge Journey?

I have never bought a new car and the dealership I went to lower the price from 24,000 to 21,000. This was after the $2000 rebate from the company. The dealer ship only took off $1000. Do you think this is all they can take off the car is $1000 or are they just saying that?

They are just saying that.  There is enough room in the mark-up for them to move at least another $725.  Shop around and you'll be sure to find a much better price.
