  1. that trip is about 32 miles ive just checked on rac route planer

black cabs are about £4 per mile

private mini cab/taxi can be £2.30 >£3.00 per mile

these prices are estimates but most firms do "set" prices to certain destinations (like heathrow > city london) so get a quote before you get in the car . information desk at the airport can direct you to a decent firm

I think expecting to pay about £60-70 is what you should be trying for as a set price

but to be fair the tain service is MUCH better . its a 15 min journey compared to the 45min + you will have in a cab . also its a lot cheaper at about £30 for a standard ticket.

  2. go by the heathrow express a lot faster 15 minutes to paddington and a lot less money. black cab in excess of £70 and heathrow express less than £20.

i did the exact same journey not so long ago!

  3. but why why why are you even asking about taxi fares from T5 into town - are you very rich with money to spare ?.

Terminal 5 is served by both the Heathrow Express train and the London Underground - both of which will whisk you much cheaper (and depending on time of day) much quicker than a taxi into London

    ..

  4. The journey to central London by taxi costs between £40 and £70 depending on the traffic and this link gives you more information about picking up a taxi at terminal 5

If you're going to Paddington, the Heathrow Express is another option www.visitbritaindirect.com and there's also the Dot2 van which picks people up at the airport and drops them off at their central London locations www.dot2.com
