  1. 13 seer is what you have to get, rule of thumb is for every 600 sq feet in a room is a half ton so so the mathe also take into consideration, windows and ceiling height....a 2 ton unit can cost about 10000 dollars installed profesionaly.           i wouldnt pay more

  2. depends on how much refridgerant around 1800 installed 14 or 15 ? seer dont remember seeing 15 but if you go higher than 13 seer you have to go txv in your evap and or change your evap coil its a matter of up to 300 cost dif but your evap coil is what will cost you

  3. That will depend on a number of factors the information given does not cover. Going to 13 SEER will mean new outdoor unit and indoor coil. If the current air handler won't fit the new coil, a new air handler will be needed also. To go to 14 SEER, a variable speed air handler will be needed and that will also add to the price.

Asking prices from this forum is a joke. No body here can see the setup you currently have or be able to figure labor. And as to equipment there is a wide spectrum of pricing available. The cheap stuff won't be your best buy unless you plan to sell within a year.

Get a couple quotes from local contractors. Make sure you compare apples to apples.(Trane and Goodman are not equal units, as Carrier products and Goodman are)

Best guess at this point is between $7500.00 to $18,000.00.

  4. A/C equipment should not be to much different than South Florida check out prices on this web site to give you a ideal. If not in attic 2500.00-3000.00 max each!
