Guinea Pgs love to be cuddled, so you should play with them yourself for half and hour each day and let him run around in a pen for 15 minutes a day.

create a little pen on the floor with blankets that block under the couch and doorways..stuff like that.

I would just let mine run all over, they get so excited and purr.  It's the cutest thing ever.  I would lay on the floor and talk to them and bring them treats.

Is your guinea pig alone? As in, no other pigs with him?

If he's alone, you should be playing with him at least an hour a day. Guinea pigs are very social animals, so you should consider getting another one anyway. Alone, they need lots of time with you.

Well you should play with your ginypig daily like sometimes in the noon and you can teach it tricks like making a maze and than putting a treat out at the end of the maze.But on top of all of that Good luck with your ginypig.
