I'm selling a computer at a garage sale. Ok this computer is an HP 7940. It has 512 gigs of memory. It comes with a mouse, a keyboard, a printer, speakers, etc. All it needs is a new operating system and I think a new bios. I know something is wrong with this computer, and it keeps saying it's the bios. I've tried messing with it, but I'm not very good with computers. I'm gonna let the person who buys it that it needs a little work, but it is a nice computer. I've had windows xp on it before. And it has always been a good computer. So how much do you you think I should sell it for? $30? $20? 10? $5? $1? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

  2. It wouldn't make sense to sell it as a whole PC. In fact i doubt anyone would (or should) buy it in that condition. If the BIOS is totally gone, it would only be useful as spare parts, if at all. A fried BIOS means that whomever bought it would have to replace the motherboard, but to find one that old isn't worth it. The CPU is a Pentium III and it uses PC 100 SDRAM - there isn't much demand for either, but you'll probably have better luck ( and make more) selling these as individual parts than you would if you tried to sell the whole PC. The other components such as cd drive and hard drive are too old to sell. Check eBay for examples of similarly aged components before you set your mind on a price.
