I want a good cordless phone that's not too expensive. I was thinking of spending $40 to $50 but then my friend tells me that if I want a good phone I should spend more than that.

  1. Don't buy a cheap analog phone, scanners can listen to your conversation. Go digital.

A very good phone is the Uniden DECT 1080-2. Has answering machine, and has 1 extra handset. Runs about $90-.

  2. Stay within your budget.

  3. I've never spent more than $40 on a cordless and have never had any problems.

  4. forget the price tags of uniden and vtech, they can be misleading, when you are spending that money you expect a quality product... both brands are garbage...

get a panasonic, preferably a DECT model...

for  a single handset unit you should not be paying too much more then your expected price... but I advise most people that a decent cordless is going to run in the $80 range... mine was about $150 (panasonic DECT with 4 handsets)

  5. Any cordless phone will work
