How much should I work out the week before riding a Century bike ride (100 miles)?

I am riding a century (100 mi bike ride) next Sunday June 1st. I have been training since February, working out 6 days a week (spin class 3 days, ride outside Tuesdays and Sundays, and ride long distances with Team in Training team on Saturdays for 60-85miles) This weekend they are shipping our bikes so I can't ride after Saturday May 24th. Next week I was planning on doing two spin classes and possibly just going to the gym one or two other days and swim or do the elliptical. Does this sound reasonable?

Is there any other things I should do to get my body ready?

  1. You're tracking.  Trainings done. Time for taper, rest, nutrition, and hydration.

Also remember to eat and drink before, during and after the event.

While we're typically burning oh say 600 cals per hour during the effort, the body will only replace a max of less than 400 cals ph.  So the bod shoul be be topped off with cals and water to begin and then continually replenished along the way.  Don't wait til hungry or thirsty by then it's too late and bod's fuel avail is behind its input ability.

Great, sounds like a first! Congrats and all the best!
