How much should a 3 day vacation to a nearby state cost for lil old me staying there?

I just vacationed in Baltimore, am from NY, and felt I spent a lil too much.

There is no easy answer to this. Did you stay in a tent and eat at McDonald's or at a 4 star hotel and eat room service.  Baltimore proper is touristy and thus more expensive than staying in a small town out side of Baltimore.

9 years ago I couldn't find a hotel room in Baltimore proper for under $200 / night and the $99 hotel we found in an outlying area was the pits.
