  1. I had the fuel pump replaced in my 2000 pontiac sunfire and it cost me $600 at a small shop! And if i'm not mistaken your cavalier and my sunfire have the same engine!

  2. We have a fuel pump at my store right now.

to just buy the part...it is $246.  It is the complete assembly..with the fuel sender included.

The cost to put it in..depends on where you go to get it installed.

I would ask around a little for quotes first..to see where you can get the best price.

    good luck,

  3. Not sure on parts, labor can be over $1000 though, it's a lot of work to drop the gas tank if thats where the pump is in. The job itself is fairly easy, just drop the gas tank, removed 5 bolts, replace pump, connect wires, etc. It's just a lot of time and a lot of labor. Something you could do in your driveway if you wanted.

  4. the whole assembly should be under $300. Labor at a small private shop should be under $200
