How much should a person charge for log splitting?this is with a 27 ton gas,an should you charge by the cord ?

  1. I've done it for myself, but I certainly wouldn't do it as a profession.  Although the splitter is certainly less work than splitting with a maul and wedge, it's still a lot of work.  Just in pure labor I'd think $20/hour if you're supplyiing the wood, would be a good price, plus the expense of the gas.
